ACI Marinas

ROVINJ Position (45°04,06’ N 13°38,04’ E) Western coast of Istria ACI marina Rovinj lies in the southeastern part of Rovinj harbor, in the vicinity of a small shipyard. It is surrounded with pine woods, only 1 km from the town center. The coast of St. Katarina Island provides shelter from all winds. Open All year round

Berths

The marina has 386 berths and 40 boat places on land. Berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, toilets and showers, repair shop, 10 t crane, slipway, parking lot, grocery store, nautical gear store, gas station in the northern part of the town harbor (sea depth 4 m), 0.3 NM from the marina.

Connections 

Train station Kanfanar (17 km); nearest international airports: Pula (37 km), Trieste (90 km). Distances: Milan - 500 km, Graz - 410 km, Vienna - 590 km and Munich - 610 km.

Approach 

From the sea one can recognize Rovinj by the bell tower of the church of St. Euphemia standing on the hill in the middle of the peninsula, as well as the St. Katarina Island beneath the very town. Cape St. Euphemia is a marked by a lighthouse (Fl 4s 19m 7M) which can be used as a way point (45°05,0’ N 13°38,0’E). ACI marina Rovinj can be approached between St. Katarina Island and the town harbor breakwater. At the head of the breakwater is a lighthouse (Fl R 3s 7m 3M). Between the lighthouse and St. Katarina Island there is a shoal marked by a yellow-black conical buoy that has to be rounded from north. If we approach the marina from the south, we should hold to the marina breakwater which on its end is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 5s 7m 5M).

Position (44°52,6’ N 13°50’ E) Southwestern coast of Istria ACI marina Pula lies in the southeastern part of the city port. Open All year round

Berths 

The marina has 213 berths. Berths have water and power supply.

Facilities 

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, toilets and showers, repair shop, 10 t crane, parking lot, rent-a-car. The gas station is located on the small pier near the marina. The Harbour Master's office and Customs can be reached easily. Shopping is possible in the city.

Connections 

Pula has regular bus and rail connections with all Croatian cities. The Pula airport is 5 km from the city. Distances: Trieste - 110 km, Milan - 520 km, Graz - 430 km, Vienna - 610 km, Munich - 630 km.

Appoach 

The port of Pula lies in a natural bay, well-protected by a peninsula and breakwater. The harbor can be safely approached between the breakwater head (an extention of Cape Kumpar) that is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 3s 9m 6M) and Cape Proština that is marked by a red lighthouse (Fl R 3s 9m 5M). The lighthouse on Cape Kumpar can be used as a way point (44°53,2’ N 13°47,7’ E). After that one should steer towards the southern cape of Andrija Islet that is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 2s 7m 1M). Andrija Islet can be rounded from the both south and north. When approaching the harbor at night, the passage between Andrija Islet and Katarina Island is well marked by two pairs of red and green lighthouses. After that passage on our way to ACI marina Pula there is another lighthouse on Uljanik Island (Fl G 5s 7m 3M), which has to be rounded before the marina comes in sight. Attention should be paid to several large iron buoys, which are randomly anchored along the described course leading to the marina. Maximum speed in the port is 8 knots.

Position (44°49’ N 13°54’ E) South eastern coast of Istria ACI marina Pomer lies south of the village of Pomer. Open All year round

Berths 

The marina has 253 berths and 30 boat places on land. Berths have water and power supply.

Facilities 

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, toilets and showers, grocery store, repair shop, 10 t crane, parking lot. The nearest gas station is in Pješčana uvala (5 NM).

Connections 

Pomer is only 10 km from Pula where from there are regular bus and rail connections with all Croatian cities. The Pula airport is 10 km from the city. Distances: Trieste - 120 km, Milan - 520 km, Graz - 430 km, Vienna - 610 km, Munich - 630 km.

Approach 

The village of Pomer lies in the northwestern part of Medulin Bay, which opens up between Cape Kamenjak and Cape Marlera. Due to numerous reefs and shoals, it is advisable to approach through the main channel, passing east of Fenera Islet (44°46,2’ N 13°57,2’ E) and then between Ceja and Bodulaš Islands. The sea is much shallower around Bodulaš Island so it is safer to sail along Ceja Island. When approaching at night the course between Ceja and Bodulaš Islands is marked by the lighthouse on Cape Munat (Fl WR 2s 9m 7/4M). In the inlet keep to the middle of passage between Cape Munat and Cape Kašteja, then steer towards Pomerski Školjić Island which is to be rounded from the east. After that ACI marina Pomer, which during daylight is identified by a white crane, comes insight.

Position (44°57’ N 14°24’ E) Kvarner Bay, western coast of the island of Cres ACI marina Cres lies in the southern part of Cres harbor, in a long sheltered bay on the western coast of the island of Cres. Open All year round

Berths

The marina has 473 berths and 120 boat places on land. All berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, café, toilets and showers, laundry service, grocery store, nautical gear store, dentist, repair shop, 10t crane, 30t travel lift, derrick for mast removing (20m), parking lot and gas station in the northern part of the marina. The marina offers accommodation possibilities in 8 comfortable apartments.
ACI marina Cres along with nine other ACI marinas has been awarded the “European Blue Flag”, an environmental award given to communities that make a special effort to keep their beaches and marinas clean and manage them with consideration for the local environment.

Connections

The easiest way to reach the marina by car is to take the ferry from Brestova (near Opatija) to Porozina. The way via the island of Krk which is linked to the mainland by a bridge, and then by ferry from Valbiska to Merag is somewhat longer. Ferry and catamaran lines are frequent during the summer season. Cres is linked to Rijeka by regular bus lines. The airport of Mali Lošinj is 50 km away.

Approach 

Approach to Cres harbor is possible through a channel 400 m wide. Landmarks when approaching Cres harbor are the lighthouses on Cape Kovačine (Fl (2) 6s 9m 8M) and on Cape Križice (Fl G 3s 9m 4M). The lighthouse on Cape Kovačine can be used as a way point (44°57,6’ N 14°23,7’ E). After approaching the channel between those two lighthouses, the lighthouse on Cape Melin (Fl R 3s 6m 3M) comes in sight. There is an underwater reef in front of Cape Melin, so a distance of at least 50 m should be kept. The entrance into ACI marina Cres is marked by harbor lights. On the breakwater head there is a red lighthouse (Fl (2) R 5s 7m 3M) and on Martinski Islet a green lighthouse (Fl (2) G 5s 7m 3M). Maximum speed from Cape Kovačine to the marina and 5 knots and within the marina 2 knots.

RAB

Position (44°45,4’ N 14°46,0’ E) Kvarner Bay, western coast of the island of Rab ACI marina Rab lies in the Rab harbor, right behind the breakwater. Open from March 15th till November 1st

Berths

The marina has 142 berths. Berths have water and power supply.

Facilities 

Reception, exchange office, bar, toilets and showers, grocery store, repair shop, slipway, gas station for all types of fuel.

Connections 

Rab is connected to Rijeka by regular bus lines. There is a regular ferry line between Mišjak harbor in the southern part of the island (10 km from Rab) and Jablanac on the mainland. During summer there are also ferry and catamaran line with the island of Krk (Lopar – Baška).

Approach 

From the sea one will immediately recognize Rab by its town walls and four bell towers. Approach is possible between Cape Frkanj, on which there is a red lighthouse ( Fl R 2s 5m 4M) and Frkanj Shoal, which is marked by a green lighthouse on a concrete base (Fl G 2s 6m 4M). The latitude and longitude of Frkanj Shoal are 44°44,9’ N 14°45,5’ E. The shoal can be rounded from southeast. The entrance to the harbor is marked with a red lighthouse on Cape St. Ante (Fl R 1,5s 7m 3M) and a green lighthouse on Tunera Islet (Fl G 2s 14m 4M). Due to shallow spots around Tunera Islet, one should keep to the red lighthouse. ACI marina Rab is situated within the Rab harbor bay that lies in southeast-northwest direction. The marina is protected by a breakwater, the head of which is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 1,5s 7m 4M). During a strong south wind it is not recommended to stay in the town harbor. Maximum speed in the approach channel is 3 knots for all vessels. The western ends of the piers in the marina are lighted.

JEZERA

Position (43°47,1’ N 15° 39,2’ E) Central Adriatic - island of Murter ACI marina Jezera lies in the southern part of Jezera Bay. ACI marina Jezera is protected by a breakwater on the eastern side. Open All year round

Berths

The marina has 189 berths and 60 boat places on land. Berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, toilets and showers, repair shop, 10 t crane, parking lot, sailing school. The gas station is at the operating pier of the marina.
ACI marina Jezera has been awarded the “European Blue Flag”, an environmental award given to communities that make a special effort to keep their beaches and marinas clean and manage them with consideration for the local environment.

Connections

From Zadar and Split respectively, one arrives to Murter by a bascule-bridge in Tisno. Nearest international airports: Zadar (45 km) and Split (90 km).

Approach

The village of Jezera is situated in Jezera Bay on the southeastern side of the island of Murter. Approach is possible from either side of Školjić Island, sea depth on the northern side being 7 m and 15 m on the southern side. As a landmark when approaching there is a red lighthouse (Fl R 5s 7m 4M) on the head of the ACI marina Jezera breakwater. Since the marina lies in a long bay of the island of Murter the lighthouse on Maslinjak Island (Fl G 3s 17m 3M) can be used as a way point (43°46,1’ N 15°41,0’ E). Between the islands Maslinjak and Školjić there is Hrbošnjak Island, which can be rounded from either side. However, approach from the eastern side is advisable to avoid the shallow channel between the island of Hrbošnjak and Murter. When approaching ACI marina Jezera, one should pay attention to numerous fishing boats.

TROGIR

Position (43°30,8’ N 16°15,2’ E) South Adriatic - Trogir Channel ACI marina Trogir lies on the northern side of Čiovo Island. Between Trogir bridge and Cape Čubrijan, facing the town of Trogir. Open All year round

Berths

The marina has 162 berths and 35 boat places on land. All berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, toilets and showers, grocery store, repair shop, 10 t crane, parking lot, ACI charter base. The gas station is at the western end of the marina.

Connections

The Split international airport, only 6 km from Trogir, links this area with entire Europe. Rapid ferry lines connect Split (25 km) with Rijeka and Dubrovnik, as well as Ancona, Pescara and Bari in Italy.

Approach

The town of Trogir is situated on an island between the mainland and Čiovo Island. In the channel north of the town the sea is only 2 m deep, and going further it becomes even shallower (1 m). Over this channel the town is connected with the mainland by a solid bridge, while with Čiovo Island, where the ACI marina is situated, it is connected by a bascule-bridge (2.40 m high) which does not open anymore. For boats that cannot pass under the bascule- bridge approach to the port is possible from the west, between Čiovo Island and Čelice reef. A good landmark is the green lighthouse on Cape Čubrijan (Fl G 2s 8m 4M), which can be used as a way point as well (43°30,7’ N 16°14,6’ E). For those approaching from the east the way is marked with red and green marks. Sea depth in the passage under the bridge is 4.5 m.

SPLIT

Position (43°30,1’ N 16°26,0’ E) South Adriatic ACI marina Split lies in the southwestern part of the city port, north of the Sustipan Peninsula. The long breakwater protects the marina from the southern winds. Open All year round

Berths

Marina has 364 berths and 60 boat places on land. All berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, restaurant, snack-bar, toilets and showers, laundry service, grocery store, nautical gear store, repair shop, 10 t crane, slipway (35 t), derrick for mast removing, parking lot. Customs formalities can be effected in the city port all year round. The gas station is in front of the "Marjan" Hotel (100m).
ACI marina Split along with nine other ACI marinas has been awarded the “European Blue Flag”, an environmental award given to communities that make a special effort to keep their beaches and marinas clean and manage them with consideration for the local environment.

Connections

The train and bus station as well as the port are only 1 km from the marina. There are regular ferry lines to Rijeka and Dubrovnik, as well as Ancona, Pescara and Bari in Italy. Regular ferry lines connect Split with islands. The airport, 20 km from the city, connects the entire region with Europe and the rest of the world.

Approach

The landmarks seen while entering the city port are the prominent bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Domnius, Cape Sustipan and the Marjan Hill on the west. The wide entrance into the city port lies between the main breakwater, on the head of which is a green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11m 10M) and the ACI marina breakwater, an extension of Cape Sustipan, on which there is a red tower with red lighthouse (Fl R 6s 9m 5M). The latitude and longitude of the green lighthouse on the main breakwater are 43°30,1’ N 16°25,5’ E. Inside the port, ACI marina Split is protected with another breakwater, the head of which is marked by a red lighthouse (Fl R 2s 6m 3M). After rounding the breakwater head ACI marina Split is approached. Closer to the shore there are some reefs marked with a green buoy.

DUBROVNIK

Position (42°40,3’ N 18°07,6’ E) South Adriatic ACI marina Dubrovnik lies near Komolac, about 2 NM from the entrance to the port of Gruž and only 6 km from the old city nucleus. Open All year round

Berths

The marina has 425 berths and 140 boat places on land. All berths have water and power supply.

Facilities

Reception, exchange office, café, aperitive-bar, restaurant, tavern, tennis courts, swimming pool, toilets and showers, laundry service, supermarket , nautical gear store, repair shop, 60 t travel lift, parking lot, gas station (butane bottles available) (500 m). Customs formalities can be effected all year round in the port of Gruž.
ACI marina Dubrovnik along with nine other ACI marinas has been awarded the “European Blue Flag”, an environmental award given to communities that make a special effort to keep their beaches and marinas clean and manage them with consideration for the local environment.

Connections

By the port of Gruž Dubrovnik is connected with all major Croatian ports. There are regular ferry lines to Ancona, Pescara and Bari in Italy. Apart from that, the airport (Ćilipi) has worldwide international flights. Bus lines lead to all major European cities. The marina is connected with the port of Gruž and the old city by bus lines.

Approach

The inlet of Rijeka Dubrovačka at the end of which is the ACI marina until the easily noticeable monastery at Rožat is 170 - 400 m long. As a way point when approaching the mouth of Rijeka Dubrovačka the islet of Daksa can be used. There is a lighthouse (Fl 6s 7m 10M) on the northern cape of the islet, which can be rounded from either side. The latitude and longitude of the lighthouse are 42°40,2 N 18°03,5’ E. The entrance to the mouth of Rijeka Dubrovačka is marked by a lighthouse on Cape Kantafig (FlRG2s8m4M). The course through the riverbed leads to the Mokošica lighthouse (Fl R 3s 6m 4M) and further to the ACI marina Dubrovnik. From Rožat the inlet becomes narrower and more shallower. Sea-depth is 3-5 m. The marina is flood -lit at night. A long breakwater protects the marina from the river currents.
